Learn World History (free)

Initially released October 2, 2011.

Learn world history from the dawn of civilization to 1900! This is the free version of this application. The full version has no ads and has twice as many historical events in its database. Learn world history from the beginnings of civilization through 1900! This app helps you learn hundreds of key events thoughout world history. Learn World History contains two quizzes in one app. First, you can get a sense of the order of historical events by using the "Which Came First" quiz, in which you choose the first of two events to happen. Then learn exact dates with the "When Did It Happen" quiz, where you have to identify a specific year when an event occurred. The quizzes can be customized to a specific date range, allowing you to focus on the time period that is most important to you. The quizzes can also be limited to one of three subject areas: Warfare and Politics; Science and Exploration; or Arts and Culture. There is also a difficulty setting which controls how far apart the events are (in "Which Came First") or how far apart the answer choices are (in "When Did It Happen").

Learn World History ($1.99)

This is the same as the free app, but without ads and with twice as many events in its database.

Quizz'n World Capitals

Initialy released May 19, 2011.

Learn world capitals quickly! Free, no ads.

This is a free and ad-free application that requires no special permissions. Quizzn World Capitals is a fast-paced quiz/flashcards application to teach you the names of world capitals in English. Choose to be quizzed either on the name of the capital, with four countries to choose from; or the opposite, being quizzed on a country, with four capitals to choose from. The application keeps track of your progress, and tailors the quiz to ask you what you don.t already know. So if you answer correctly on the first try, then you won.t be quizzed on that particular capital again. If you miss it on the first try, the capital stays in the .deck. until you.ve answered it correctly twice. Capitals are separated into categories by continent/region. Countries that are part of a larger kingdom (e.g., Scotland, Wales) are included.

States where the name of the capital is the same as the country itself are not (sorry, Luxembourg). If you can make it all the way through to 100% in the .Islands. category, I.m impressed!

Quizz'n Spanish (Free)

Intial release May 12, 2011.

Quizzn Spanish is a free, ad-free, flashcard/quiz application to learn Spanish language vocabulary. Choose from word categories, and then choose whether you want the quiz word in English or in Spanish. Four options of other words are presented, only one of which is the right answer. The application shows your progress in each category (for recognizing the quiz words in English, and for recognizing it in Spanish). If you answer the correct word, you are not quizzed on it again. If you miss a word, it stays in the deck of cards that you are quizzed on until you.ve identified it correctly two times.
